Knock, knock

As usual, I’m coming back penitent after an extended foray into the freelancing world (more on that at my other blog, Embracing the Unpredictable).

But, after storm comes calm, or in this case, after procrastination comes work, and here I am, happy as a chicken, after having started yet another venture: I’m writing my first novel, or rather trying to flesh out an outline which has been giving me dirty looks since forever.

I am also a part of Art for Writing, Writing for Art, a challenge where writers and artists exchange pieces to use as a jumpboard for inspiration. My partner is Leah Pikenden Kolidas, from Creative Every Day. She has already sent me an inspiring picture, and I sent her a poem, but I will post about that later.

The thing is, working on the challenge has made me more productive – which is in itself a reason to participate. Here are a couple of short poems I wrote these days. First there is a haiku:

Silver beating stone

under a hazy

And the other :

Wrapped in depth

you await the moment,

and invincible.

The imperious air calls you

But you linger in the dark

drinking the pungent juices

of rocks

and earth.

Aaand, I have also painted a couple of small size works and made a journal page which I will photograph tomorrow and post as well.
